You Have to Try Miranda Lambert’s Mom’s “Magic” Cookie Recipe for Santa This Christmas

With Christmas just days away, there’s one tradition that never goes out of style — leaving cookies for Santa Claus. And this year, country star Miranda Lambert is sharing a recipe that feels as comforting and heartfelt as a classic country song.

On Instagram, Lambert recently revealed how to make her mom’s beloved “Magic Peanut Butter Cookies for Santa,” a simple, nostalgic recipe straight from her cookbook Y’all Eat Yet?. Miranda describes them as “the crunchiest, easiest, yummiest things,” and fans quickly fell in love with the idea — especially when they realized it only takes four ingredients.

No fancy tools. No complicated steps. Just good, old-fashioned comfort food — the kind that feels right at home during the holidays.

To make the cookies, all you need is:

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup crunchy peanut butter (and yes, it has to be crunchy)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 egg

Mix everything together until well combined. Roll the dough into small balls and place them about two inches apart on a baking sheet. Then comes the classic touch: press each cookie with a fork to create that familiar crisscross pattern. Bake at 350 degrees for 10–15 minutes, until the tops turn golden brown around the edges.

The final — and most important — step? Enjoy them.
(Just be sure to save a few for Santa.)

The recipe perfectly reflects Miranda Lambert’s down-to-earth personality — rooted in family, tradition, and Southern warmth.

While she’s sharing holiday joy in the kitchen, Lambert has also been busy musically. In 2025, she released her Grammy-nominated duet with Chris Stapleton, “A Song To Sing,” following her also Grammy-nominated 2024 album Postcards From Texas. Between touring and recording, Miranda continues to stay creatively inspired.

In a previous interview with Country Living, she explained her approach to making music:

“I’m pretty much always creating; it just looks different depending on where I am in the process,” she shared. “Sometimes, I’m just living my life, so I have something to write about when I come back to the music.”

Whether she’s writing songs, touring the country, or baking cookies from her mom’s recipe, Miranda Lambert proves that the magic is often found in the simple things — especially during the holidays.

And if Santa really does have a favorite cookie this year, these just might be it. 🎄🍪
